Some history
The village of Rochetaillée, built around the castle’s ruins, is situated on the narrow col on the water’s separation line. The houses, generally built with mica-schist give the village a mountainous aspect. The castle was taken by the Protestants during the religious wars (1562), then it was destroyed by the Baron of Rochetaillée who refused to pay taxes on a castle he did not reside in ! The Church, haven of peace. The current building covers and older edifice that no longer has an traces but was mentioned during the 13th century.
