A green setting in the Monts du Lyonnais
Marcenod is situated on the border of the Rhône and the Loire, in the Monts du Lyonnais. This mountain range, with an altitude which does not exceed 950m, is a place to relax and is an ideal place for walkers who will appreciate the preserved countryside.

The hamlet was created in 1868 with part of Larajasse and a part of Saint-Christo-en-Jarez, its neighbours.

The château de Trocésar
Known as les trois Césars (three caesars).
This castle is a private property and dates back to the 16th century. It is the Grammond fief. The lord was the vassal of Fontanès castle, and the latter was actually Lord Fontanès and Grammond-Trocésar. Saint-Priest and Harenc, united by marriage in 1599, are the oldest known lords of Trocésar.
