Lorette back to map

This is the first town to appear among the towns which were newly built between 1840 and 1907 in Gier Valley.

Lorette
Some history
This modest hamlet is rocked by the river which later gave its name to a much larger town, incited both by the richness of the mines and the natural resources and on the other hand by the industry of man.
The history of Lorette is the equivalent of one hundred and fifty years of workers’ fights. Between bourgeoisie and the rural world, the workers’ town has found a space for itself.
