Situated in the Pilat Massif, the Rocher de Châteauneuf (the Rock of Châteauneuf), where the fortress used to be, dominates the valley of Gier, in a narrow and windy gorge.

The son of Artaud the third, William, bequeathed the castles of Nervieu and Châteauneuf to his wife, Béatrix de Coligny.

Marlin’s rocks In the cluster of megaliths, you will come across an unusual stone in the shape of a menhir placed on a rocky outcrop. This stone is known as “the devil’s stone” or “the singing stone”.
